Barry Hunter is a motorsport art specialist dealing under the name of Barry Hunter Motorsport Art and he paints mainly cars or wheels related subjects, but also undertakes general art work.
He is a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild and the Guild of Motoring Artists which promotes high standards in motoring art and exhibits widely in the UK, with members across the world. He is on the Guild's organising committee and and was formerly the Editor of the Guild's quarterly magazine Redline for a number of years
Barry regularly exhibits with the Guild and has shown his work at the Donington Park Racing Car Collection, the Ayrton Senna Memorial Dinner, Gaydon National Heritage Centre, Coventry Transport Museum, Stoke Mandeville Hospital's SMART Exhibitions, Ford's Technical Centre at Dunton in Essex, Silverstone Classic, Goodwood XK60, Goodwood Revival, The Velocity Exhibition at Hopkins Art Gallery in Minnisota USA, The Deutschland WRC Rally Show in Trier Germany, the Mall Galleries and Alex Reade's Motor Sport Gallery in central London.
Barry's pictures have featured on greetings cards for Gibson Greetings, Image Source, Noel Tatt and Wenlock Edge and he has also had his images featured as phone wallpaper with Boungiorno and on mobile-phone racing games. His work has also been hung in a number of offices as part of art-rental schemes.
He has regularly exhibited at local art shows in the Bucks, Berks and Oxfordshire area,in Bucks and Oxford Artweeks and at Wycombe Swan theatre.
Barry's commissioned work has included corporate work for Jaguar/Stewart Grand Prix sponsors MCI World Com, FIAT UK, BMW Cowley, the Murray Walker tribute 'Trousers on fire', the San Francisco based Clyde Bay Trading Company and Jenkins & Davies Steelwork along with many private motor sport and non-motoring commissions.
Barry's work can also be found on a range of specialist internet web-sites and directories. He has been featured in Art Business Today and The Picture Business art-trade publications and written articles on Motorsport for the Bucks Free Press local newspaper. He has advertised in Motorsport and F1 magazine. He has had his work auctioned through a number of charities to raise money for good causes, including the BEN Motor Industry Auction at Brooklands, the Kings Sutton Motorsport Tsunami Appeal and McMillan Nurses in Oxford.
Barry is an accredited Press Photographer at Silverstone circuit and has met many of the Formula One drivers there as part of his duties and sells driver-signed prints. He has demonstrated at Art Groups, given talks on Motorsport Art and been interviewed on BBC Radio Oxford as part of the BBC Oxford Six Business TV programme.
