My name is Gwyneth Baker and I live in Preston in Lancashire. I moved up here from London about 26 years ago.
I did my art training at Croydon School of Art specialising in Theatre Design and worked as a scenic artist in theatres in London and Liverpool. I started drawing portraits for people over twenty years ago and still do, but after becoming a fan of MotoGP and motorcycles in general, I had a go at drawing my first motorcycle about eight years ago and was hooked.
Since then I have had commissions for track day drawings, MotoGP riders, classic motorcycle racers through to the odd classic car and trucks for a local transport company.
My most recent project has been painting a couple of motorcycle murals in a local cafe which has reignited my passion for painting on a large scale with acrylic paint. I am aiming to do a lot more painting on big canvasses in the future.
I have had a stand at the Stafford Classic Bike Show for the past couple of years and I find it a great way to connect with the motorcycle community. This is currently the only place I showcase my pictures at the moment but I would like to branch out and try some other venues if possible.
