guiding-principles
new member guiding principles
  • Motoring-focused artwork that can capture atmosphere, movement or a moment in time

  • Strong technical skill with well-finished execution in 2D or 3D

  • High accuracy and realism (where appropriate) with vehicles that are structurally correct and believable

  • Creative breadth, welcoming artists who explore motoring art through formats or mediums beyond traditional painting and illustration, including those not currently represented within the Guild.

  • Clear ideas and intent, beyond simply presenting a vehicle

  • Originality, showing a personal viewpoint rather than generic imagery

  • Consistent quality across a body of work

  • Considered use of references, avoiding direct reproduction of common or copyrighted imagery

  • AI generated art will NOT be promoted by the Guild or included in its media or exhibitions, however, the use of AI which does not replace manual creation in the final product, such as research, ideation, experimentation, etc. where AI is used solely as a reference tool, but the art is made entirely by the artist’s hand is acceptable.
