Since 1994, artist Jonny Ambrose has been creating elegant, contemporary automobile sculptures and designing trophies for the world's prestigious car concours and famous races.  Commissions include J.P.Morgan Private Banking winner trophies for the Mille Miglia series of events, and bespoke  works for Porsche Motorsport, MG, and Morgan.

His sculptures “celebrate automotive artistry with graceful abstraction”, inspired by aerodynamic forms, imagined airflow and angular shape patterns.  These minimalist artworks combine traditional, steam-bent hardwood craftsmanship with ‘state-of-the-art’ digital design and manufacturing processes.

Born 1972, he graduated 1994, in Fine Art Sculpture, was 1995 BRDC Young Artist Prize runner up, and has exhibited in Paris, California, Stuttgart, London, Glasgow and Frankfurt.

In the UK, he’s exhibited at the Royal Automobile Club, Sotheby’s London, the Historic Motoring Awards, Hampton Court, the British Motor Museum, Goodwood, Silverstone, along with creating works for car manufacturer launch events and anniversaries.

His trophies have been awarded at the Mille Miglia series of events  (J.P.Morgan winner trophies 2024-present), The Quail concours (USA) 2017-2022, and Porsche Motorsport Great Britain (2022-present).

In 2022, he co-founded a charity initiative, Auto Artists for Ukraine, raising over £55,000 for the International Red Cross, involving over 100 artists worldwide coming together to donate work.

Jonny is organiser of a 12 artist exhibition  called the Exhibition of Speed, which has been held annually at Shelsley Walsh’s historic hillclimb since 2023.

He is also on the selection panel for the Royal Automobile club’s annual Art of Motoring exhibition, and judged competitions for MG SAIC design studio.

Aston Martin’s client magazine and Porsche’s worldwide media have featured his sought after artworks, coveted by international collectors from the Americas to Australia.  His studio and wood workshop are nestled in the Warwickshire countryside, central UK.
